To acquire a diamond from the Argyle mine is to own an irreplaceable piece of nature that can never be created again. Since the mine closed, their rarity has increased - and with it, their value. These diamonds are far more than jewellery; they are historic collector’s pieces with significant long-term appeal.
Rarity
The rarer a diamond is, the more valuable it becomes – and the better it is as an investment. To optimize your investment, it is recommended to focus on one exclusive diamond rather than several smaller ones.
Certification
Always purchase an investment diamond with a GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) certificate to ensure global marketability. If the diamond is from the Argyle mine, it is recommended to include an Argyle certificate of origin.
Economic benefits
As a private investor, the return is tax-free when the diamond is set in a piece of jewelry, while the purchase is subject to VAT. If the diamond is stored in a safe deposit box outside the EU, the investment is exempt from VAT.
Time horizon
Diamond investment is a long-term strategy, and one should expect an investment horizon of 4-8 years.
